First Month Cleared!
The only thing is I will not pressure myself and will never hesitate to stop if it gets hard because I don't want this to be my obligation - I am posting it because I find joy in coming up with a new topic every day or enjoy talking about nothing and everything.
Now I'm hopeful for February - I can't wait to post more!

Sleep
But my Ju Ju goes to school now, so I need to be up before 7am in the morning. I realized there is Maki who gets happy if I get to sleep for 6 hours - that's not enough. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I don't know how to go to bed earlier than 1AM. I tend to come up with all the things I need/want to do past midnight - oh why, oh why, I just don't know.
So, I need your opinion. What is your daily hours of sleep: the hours that make you happy and fanctional - 7 hours or 8 hours? And what time do you go to bed usually or what time do you wake up? Help me!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

My recent favorite photo of Brandgelina...

The background music by Celine is kind of annoying, but you can see how lovely they are together.

Your Phone
Expensive Indulgence
When K and I were sitting and talking about nothing and everything, we talked about the price of Starbucks coffee. We all know that the price will be going up very soon, again, some say up to 30%. 30%! That's crazy. Is that possible???
I remember there were times my Grande 2pump Latte was $3.65. Then to $3.85. Now? It's $4.11. I don't even want to think about how much it's going to be within a few months. Funny thing is, people complain about it, but still go to the drive through and order the same thing all over again. It's like cigarettes. If you love it, it doesn't matter how expensive it is, you will still pay for it. Right?
I'm not sure how much of raise I'm willing to pay, but $5 for a cup of latte is damn expensive! What do you think everyone? Do you like Starbucks or do you have other favorite place for a nice cup of coffee???

Malfunction!!!
Now I tried to post the entry, but I've lost the network connection. I'm guessing the modem is still wet and worst case we may have to get the new modem...
I ran to my BlackBerry and started typing this meaningless post. But since I want to keep posting for 365 days, I hope I can count this as a legit entry... LOL.
Lesson - DO NOT bring any type of liquid near the computer. I broke my iBook when my Ju Ju spilled a glass of wine. Now this!
Be careful my friends!!!

Bachelor
The girls I believe to be Jake's final three are (and no brainer):
Gia: She is really pretty and charming. More I see her, more I like her..
Tenley: She looks so much better and cute in the show. She's genuinely a sweet girl and I can picture Jake choosing her as his wife.
Ali: Very strong and very pretty - I like her.
And this season's witch Vienna. Oh I didn't like her the minute I saw her face on the first episode - I dislike her even more! Like many, I don't even know why he's keeping her. Go hoooommme - go home!
So, Girls, have you been watching the show???? Who do you think Jake's final three???

I'm Stuck...
So, I decided to post this clip from YouTube. It's about the Hubble Space Telescope taking the most amazing image in 2003. I'm pretty taken back by this clip. I've always believed in another civilization in our space and seeing this clip totally reconfirm my belief. If you see this until the end, it will totally make you think the endless possibilities of our universe, galaxies and space. It's incredible. BTW, there is this guy starts to sing at 1:24 for about 30 seconds - I'm not sure why he's singing or if it's the guy who made this clip or not, but make sure to watch it until the end! You won't regret it!

Are You Over and Under?
When the toilet paper runs out on my watch, I put a new roll "over" - I mean, isn't that how it should be? But oh no, sometimes I try to wipe my cute butt and reach for the paper and I can't grab it. Why??? Because the paper is rolled under!! Who does that? My husband. So, I have to roll it over again. JT's mom rolls the toilet paper under it, so I understand where JT's habit comes from.
To me, taking the toilet paper under is very uncomfortable - I have to really reach it, and it sucks. But if you are one of the few who roll it under, please tell me the reason - why? Is there any good reason behind it???
By the way, Cottonelle is doing the roll poll and of course I did vote for "over" - ha ha ha..
You should definitely vote at The Great Debate

Give
Have you ever wondered what's our purpose in life? I think my purpose is to be a good mother and a decent human being to lead my daughters to do the right things when they face certain situations when they grow up.
I can admit, I'm not perfect nor an angel, but I think I stride every day to set a good example for my daughters. I see things differently now, all the things I didn't pay too much attention have more meaning to me than ever before: faith, kindness, respect, integrity, compassion... I've always believed in helping people in need, but I want to teach my chidren to understand why it's so important to open their arms, lend hands and just give.
It's been more than 10 days since the devastation of Haiti shocked the world. Outpouring support and help around the globe are still not enough to save every survivor.. But when horrible event like this happens, when I always feel the world comes crumbling down, I see goodness in people. People don't turn their head away - but they reach out, kids break their piggy bank and give their money to their mom to send in. And I know these are the things we can least offer to the world - GIVE...

Onsen - My Favorite Time -
For the past week or so, my daughters finally started to take shower by themselves. I know this sounds weird to you, but I used to take shower with them and wash their hair and body and sing songs together. And that's what I miss being in Japan because taking bath together is part of Japanese culture.
Let's talk about "Onsen"{hot springs} for example: Japan is volacanic islands and there are plenty of hot springs all over the cities and towns. We call it "Onsen" - Students go to "onsen" for school trip or family and friend go on vacation to different "onsen" all over Japan. We even have co-ed onsen where ladies and gentlemen bathe together. We say "hello" and talk about nothing and everything. It's where people meet and socialize. Hot springs come from under ground which contains different types of mineral which is very good for your skin. You can see Tom Cruise dip his body in onsen in the movie "Last Samurai"
Anyways, even still today, I take a bath with my sister or my mom if I go back to Japan or even here in the US although bathing in the tiny/shallow tub is kind of hard to do that. We wash our back and talk about our lives. I simply miss taking the bath where I can sit in the tub and let warm water cover my whole body. It feels so great...
Have you ever been to onsen before??
Enjoy the photos of onsen in Japan - see you want to visit, right????

Friends
She is a single mom, raising her daughter M who is the same age with my daughter Ju Ju. M and Ju Ju have been best friends since they were not even a year old. Anyways, K wanted me to come over and watch her daughter while K and her mom go to the ER. Thank goodness, JT had the night off, so I was able to come over.
I'm typing this entry via my BlackBerry sitting on her counch in her house. There is no fansy picture to post, but I'm waiting for her to come home. She is fine; she has called me twice to let me know that the docs are running some tests and her mom will be home around 3am.
The thing is I don't have many friends here in Florida. I know a lot of people, but there are only handful that I can call friends. And K is one of my real closest friends. I tend to miss Hawaii because that's where all my good friends are and I get homesick all the time thinking about them. But my life in Florida is better because of my friendship with K; my life here is fun and meaningful because of the way K and I have become as more like sisters and real family. I love her dearly and I'm fortunate to have her in my life.
So, I'm glad that she asked me for help and I'm glad that I could help. Afterall, my husband is watching the girls, so I should enjoy the stillness or the calmness in this house while K's daughter sleeps (Thanks to my husband who didn't hesitate to tell me to go to help K.)
By the way, I have been wanting to visit all of your blog, but because of the situation and I'm on my BB, it'll be later tomorrow. Thanks so much for all of your kind comments and I can't wait to catch up!

My Favorite Sweets...
Dark chocolate is known to lower the high blood pressure, unlike milk or white chocolate. Also, dark chocolate contains large amount of antioxidants (one study suggests 8 times more than found in strawberries!!!" The taste is so much richer and deeper (yeah? It's not called "dark" for nothing! LOL) than milk chocolate. It tastes healthy indeed!
Oh dark chocolate, I heart thee..
So, do you like chocolate? Do you like dark, milk or white???
P.S. Thanks so much everyone - I feel 75% better tonight. I almost wanted to ask my daughter to stay home because I was so miserable in the morning to take her to school. Of course I drove her to school, but I went back to bed after coming home. I realized sleep is the best remedy for the cold. Stay warm everybody!

My Pet Peeve
Back in college years, I briefly dated this guy who was very attractive. He was also a student and we frequented at a local internet cafe to study (do you remember we used to have these cafes all over the place before?) One night while we're studying, he started complaining that his nose was itchy. I had already spotted his nose hair peeking out a few days prior, but didn't know how to bring it up. I was hoping, "It won't be there tomorrow.." - but it's still there the next day. I was talking to myself in my head while looking at him, "Dude, your nose is itchy because of that hair... Can you please cut them or do something?" Then this happened.
Him: "Damn, this is annoying, I have to check and blow my nose.." (then he stands up and goes to the bathroom)
Me: "Oh, okay.." (YES!! Today is the day. He'll see it - he'll know why it's itchy!)
A few moments later, he comes back. I check, it's still there. Big big sigh... He ended up complaining throughout the night about his nose, I wasn't strong enough to tell him why his nose was itching. I wish I had the nerve to tell him, "Honey, you know, you need to trim that hair -then it wouldn't bother your nose so much.." But I just couldn't. And I stopped seeing him.
And there is reason why I'm afraid of nose hair so much. I grew up watching my dad always trimming his nose hair (excuse me for repeating the words) in front of the mirror and listened to him constantly telling me and my sisiter it's important to check our nose before going out. He used to tell me, "It doesn't matter if you're beautiful or a princess, it's not attractive to see hair peeking out from your nose, so make sure to check every day." It's funny, but it's true.
So, one of the first things I look when meet new people is nose. I know it sounds crazy because it's such a little thing to focus, but it's a huge thing for me... When it comes to my husband, I have no problem telling him about it and he usually tells me to pluck it right then and there using my tiny tweezerman that's always in my makeup bag. It doesn't matter if he's driving, I lean over and do it from the passenger seat.
I just love looking at the clean nose..
So do you have any pet peeve???

My Love for Music
I used to go to this restaurant on the North Shore, HI to see him play live - it's long before he became famous... He was really great then, and now? Forget it. I can't believe how awesome he is...
Sarah's voice is very calming and this song is definitely my favorite song to listen to when I'm in such hectic mode...
Sade is my idol. I grew up listening to her voice because my dad played her albums all the time... I wish she writes more songs. I love this tune - so beautiful..
My husband and I have very different taste in music. But we share our passion for Sade and Bob Marley. And some of the stuff he listens to are simply great. Morcheeba is one of them. I had never heard of them until I met my husband 9 years ago - when he played theri CD for the first time, oh my goodness, I couldn't believe it. He totally surprised me...

Have A Lovely Weekend!!!
I was at my BFF who lives across the lake from me - now I'm back at the house typing this post because you know, I made a promise to myself that I will try to post every day in 2010!!!
My BFF K has my girls along with her daughter, bathing them while I'm home getting the girls' pajamas - the girls are sleeping over at her house. K's daughter and my girls are BFF's too! I'm heading back there to have some cocktails at her house and have girls talk... Oh how much I love those girl talk. LOL...
Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all a lovely and safe four-day weekend!
Let me know how your weekend is going!

What's Wrong with My JuJu???
Even tonight, she was fine at first, but once she started eating dinner, she complained saying "mommy.. I have a headache.." and stopped eating and laid on the couch. She took a hot shower, but she cried, "I want to go to bed..." So, JT ran to Walgreens and got her Tylenol and now she's sleeping.
She was never like this until she started school in August. We are thinking she maybe need a glasses, so we're taking her to the eye doctor. But if having a pair of glasses won't make the headache go away, then, what?
I've been online for quite sometime and it seems pediatric migraine are relatively common and starts from an early age... After the eye doctor, we're taking Ju Ju to her doctor. I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with her. When a cheerful kid who runs for a soccer ball gets sick like that, it does worry me.... Yes, definitely makes her mommy nervous...

Shut It!!!
Many of you know that Florida has been suffering from unusual cold weather (I'm talking deep freeze) and the temperature finally has gone up since yesterday. But it's still chilly at night. Anyway, one of the employees of the restaurant decided to open the door to change the air. Many people waiting in line weren't happy about it, but what could we do? Then an old couple and their friends came in and tried to close the door. Everyone in line told the lady, "Oh you can't close the door, they want to keep it open." Now this old lady frawned and said, "Why?? It's cold!"
Meanwhile, my BFF K decided to call our kids who were playing outside to come back in the restaurant. That's when we heard this old lady yelling at our girls, "Shut it!"
We looked and my BFF went to the door to see what's going on. Apparently, that same old lady tried to close the door when our girls tried to keep it open using the stopper. K's daughter M said to the lady (and she's only 6), "But the waiter told us we can't close it.." - "I don't care, just shut it. SHUT IT!," the lady yelled again.
K told the lady, "Excuse me, you don't need to yell at my children. They are following the instruction - it's not their fault." Then the lady said, "Oh why are you being so hostile? We're freezing here, I don't care what anyone says, that door needs to be shut!"
Okay... I think her mouth needs to be shut. Seriously, that lady was rude and scary. Nobody has the right to talk to our children the way she did especially when they're doing the right thing. The girls said, "Mommy, that lady wasn't nice.."

7 Things About Me...
*I am a mother to the most beautiful daughters - they are my everything. They are the reason why I want to be a better person.
* I have certain weakness to good scripted TV shows - like "GOSSIP GIRL" - Who wouldn't like GP???
*Beach is Life.. Yes, I can't live without or apart from beach. The color, the breeze, the smell - I love everything about it.
*I love fashion. Period.
*I also love dancing. I dance with my daughters at home or with friends at clubs. It totally makes me happy! Let's do happy dance!!
* I love working out. I seriously started working out about two years ago. I've always been the thin one when people say, "You are so tiny!" I wanted to have toned body, not skinny body. I wanted to look healthy, not sickly.. And I've enjoyed working out - it's such a great feeling!!!
* And my idol - Christian Bale. I know, I've talked about him so many times. I'm sorry girfriends - I can't help it. I wish upon a star, I would love to see him in person and shake his hand.. Gosh, he's gorgeous!
I talked about 7 things about me because my new lovely friend Brittany gave me an award a few days ago. I haven't gotten one of these in a while and it always makes me feel so special. Thank you so much for thinking of me!! xoxox
I know I need to hand it to my fellow friends -- Let's see.. Any taker? I'll decide and post about it this week!

Forever Young...
Today we had a surprise birthday party for my father in law's aunt(JT's stepdad's.) She turned 90. My mother in law told us not to say, "Surprise!!!" because she was afraid it might give the aunt a heart-attack or something. So we sang Happy Birthday instead... Oh it was really nice - she was seriously surprised and she dropped everything and her mouth was opened for about two minutes. She couldn't believe it.
She looks pretty good for 90 and is doing really well for being that old. There were 24 people at my mother in law's house and we had such great time...
As many of you already know, one of the things that I fear is aging. It's something we can't avoid and we'll be old no matter what. It's human nature and I am trying to embrace it as hard as I can. But I'm going to be honest, 1/2 of me is really not looking forward to getting old. I think I'm afraid of being crippled or not being able to do the things I was able to do when I was younger. Losing the hearing or not being able to wear cute dresses, or simply the unknown of how I will look in thirty years.
But looking at my aunt tonight and seeing her surrounded by all the people she loves, I know it can't be that bad. Actually it's a wonderful thing... The laughter or love or happiness that I saw today is something I look forward to when I get old and maybe a grandmommy...
BTW, Florida is having a very cold weather - I hear many people complaning, but I'm enjoying it because I get to wear my winter coat or boots which I don't get to use all the much here. No matter where you are, I hope you're staying warm!
xoxo
P.S. Thanks to http://brittanyciara.blogspot.com/Brittany - she gave me an award yesterday! I will accept and post it tomorrow! Thank you sweetheart! xoxoxo

Cupid : Update...
But it's okay - we ended up going to downtown and partied together with my BFF and co-workers instead! And I must say I had real fun!!!
By the way, is it just me when I am hangover, I want soda? I usually don't drink soda - maybe once every two months or so. But when I had a lot of alcohol the night before, all I want is Coke or Sprite. Funny, I know. Even today, I had cafeine free Coke and my oldest daughter Ju Ju looked at me and said, "Mama? Soda???" Oh it was so yummy...
How about you - What do you like to have when you're hangover: greesy food or soda???

The Thing I'm Most Scared Of...
I was never afraid of them until I found out that the zombies are caused by infectious disease. Did you know? That means, it could happen. You never know what kind of research are being conducted behind the door of Army labs or any type of research facilities. Things can go terribly wrong. Everytime I try to explain that to my family (my in-laws) and friends, they always look at me like I have two heads. But seriously, don't ever underestimate the possibility...
I highly recommend this film to people who don't get sea sick and has a strong heart. I honestly thought it was well made for a meaningless zombie movie.
Do you like zombie movie? (I don't!)

The Fallen
I've been wanting to write about a post, but didn't know when was the right time. But today, this post is going to be a bit serious and very sad.
On December 30th last year (as in last week), 7 CIA officers (8th victim was a Jordanian army captain who was Jordanian intelligence working closely with CIA) were killed in Eastern Afghanistan by a suicide bomber insde Forward Operating Base Chapman. The suicide bomber was later confirmed that the double agent for both CIA and Jordinian working for Taliban. Sounds like it's something you see it in the movies, but this is a real deal. The remains of seven CIA officers were flown to Dover Air Force base in Delaware yesterday (Jan 4th.) We'll never find out who those people are because of the nature of their job: working for CIA, but the reports say that one of the victims was a CIA chief based in Khost (the region where CIA operating base was located) and she was the mother of three: A mother...
And I can't find the words to express my sorrow for those who died. I can write about Fuji Apple or Disney movies or my family's on my blog because I am safe today. And I am safe today because of all the men and women who risk their lives trying to catch the bad guys... Whether you like to hear it or not, it is the truth. All those people are doing what they are doing because they want to protect us thousands of miles away . And they die from it. It happens every day. And I can't help, but to be grateful for their sacrifice and pray for their safe return.
I copied and pasted the statement released by CIA and CIA Director Leon E. Panetta.
*Statement on CIA Casualties in Afghanistan
CIA Director Leon E. Panetta informed the Agency workforce today that seven of their colleagues were killed and six others were injured on Wednesday at a Forward Operating Base in Khost Province, Afghanistan. The casualties were the result of a terrorist attack.
“Those who fell yesterday were far from home and close to the enemy, doing the hard work that must be done to protect our country from terrorism,” Director Panetta said in a message to employees. “We owe them our deepest gratitude, and we pledge to them and their families that we will never cease fighting for the cause to which they dedicated their lives—a safer America.”
“Families have been our Agency’s first priority,” Director Panetta added. “Before sharing this information with anyone else, we wanted to be in contact with each of them. This is the most difficult news to bear under any circumstances, but that it comes during the holidays makes it even harder. In coming days and weeks, we will comfort them and honor their loved ones as a family. They are in our thoughts and prayers—now and always.”
Due to the sensitivity of their mission and other ongoing operations, neither the names of those killed nor the details of their work are being released at this time.
“Yesterday’s tragedy reminds us that the men and women of the CIA put their lives at risk every day to protect this nation,” Director Panetta said. “Throughout our history, the reality is that those who make a real difference often face real danger.”
Director Panetta credited US military doctors and nurses with saving the lives of those wounded in the attack. In honor and memory of the dead, he requested that the flags at CIA Headquarters be flown at half-staff.*
My sincere gratitude to those who fight the war on terrorism and deepset sympathy for those who lost their lives for our country....
