My Drug of Choice...

computer addicted Pictures, Images and Photos

So, I need to ask you everyone. How many hours do you spend everyday/night in front of your computer blogging?

Before I went back to work almost two months ago, I had freedom to be on the computer whenever I wanted. It was totally stress free. Now I'm back to work and because I am not able to use computer there, the only time I can blog is at night after the girls go to bed. I always try to catch up with comments in the morning, but seriously, I am having tough time separating doing chore around the house and typing keypads.

To tell you the truth, I sometimes feel posting a blog is more important than washing dishes. Isn't that horrible or what? I mean... I feel like a bad wife.

JT has already told me that my intense attachment to the blogsphere shows an addictive personality. He tries to analyze everything based on his recovery from his drug addiction. Now he tells me I am addicted to blogging. And I think I am. JT is so smart.

If I don't get to catch up or if I don't post anything for a day, I start to freak out. I don't think that's good. I mean, that's no fun, right? That's why I have decided to free myself from blogging at least once a week, so I can be a better wife and a mommy.

But what about you guys? How do you weigh youself when it comes to your blog? Do you do your homework? Do you clean your house and take care of your kids before you sit in front of the computer??? Or do you totally throw everything on the floor and hug your computer as soon as you come back to your house???

Totally understand! Same thing happened to me once I did find a job... Now, I have to compress everything I need to do (blogging, photo editing, twittering, and Etsy) into the evening. My evening starts at around 9pm after I'm off work and have eaten dinner. I expect it to get worse with the holiday season since I'll have to stay later to help put the store back together.

I'm totally addicted too! :-)

We could be sitting at the same meeting..."Hi, my name is Rambler, and I AM completely ADDICTED to blogging!"

(((sigh)))

The other day I was rushing through my domestic duties so I could get back on...it's sick I tell you, SICK!

:) Hey, but I found you? So this can't be that bad?!!!!!!

I find blogging is like a new lover. At first I want to spend all my time with it, on it, find other blogs, commenting, reading, writing... then I'll hit a wall and I really can't be bothered. Then it'll get to me again, and I'll be on it for hours

I blog all day at work so it doesn't interfere with my home life. if hubby plays a video game or gets on the phone with one of his home boys I blog then too.

Oh I'm pretty sure I'm addicted too. I turn on my computer as soon as I get home and spend hours writing posts or reading other blogs. At least I've finally kicked the habit of getting online first thing in the morning. On weekdays anyway...

Guh...writing my actual posts rarely takes more than 20 minutes. Most of my computer time is spent reading other blogs since I'm subscribed to so damn many.

And as for your questions, I'm a canuck so our Thanksgiving was last month. I wish I could scam another...

i mostly blog at work. I have more free time there (haha)!
Of course, I check in first thing in the morning and several times throughout the day just to see what's new.

Considering I fire up my computer almost as soon as I roll out of bed (and when Im sick, the laptop actually stays in bed with me 24/7 so all I have to do is reach over and fire it up upon waking), and then Im on it all day between Blogger and MySpace...yeah Im sure I spend entirely too much time in here. It's not even because Im writing either, Im in the same boat as Ben up there...LOL.

Thank goodness the laptop's downstairs...at least this way I can get my bike rides in and the laundry, cooking and dishes done...

I only feel I "have" to check my blogs because they add up so quick. I think the break will be good for you. Life before computers :)

Well, since I challenged myself to blog 365 straight days, it's been a big priority just because it's a ridiculous goal, but once that 365 days lapses I'm downsizing :-)

Also, I need your email so I can send my address...you can send to colbymarshall1@aol.com

I took a blogging break about a month ago. It's funny and scary how addicting it can be isn't it?

I recently started blogging in bed, hence the name of my blog. It's the best way I can ensure that my blogging addiction doesn't interfere with my baby and husband. If they're both alseep, everything is just dandy!

Sometimes blogging is a pain because it takes up so much time! I usually read blogs for about 1.5 hours at night and work on my weekly posts during the weekend. But that can take like 2 hours total too with editing and reading before posting. Man what a time suck, but a fun one :)

I would definitely say, if you're neglecting things that need to be done, then you're definitely addicted! I've been guilty of that many times. I think it can surely be an addiction, just like anything else. I spend at least 6 hours a day on my computer, but on and off. And not just blogging, but that's still a lot of time.

I don't really blog (you can't count poetry as blogging, right?), but it is true that I AM addicted to the computer without a doubt.. Like right now, I should be studying for the exam I have in a few hours but I'm here, posting this comment.. What does that tell you, ahahah. xD

Franco: yes I read it. so sad. and yes, thanks so much for the email!!

BakerGirl: Don't you hate it when you have to squeeze everything into the evening - night???

The Rambler: Yep, totally. "Hi, I'm Maki. I'm a blog addict" "Hi Maki!!" We would call it BA - Blog Annonymous. LOL. I'm grateful though because we found each other - what a great love story:) xo

Bambola: Yes, it's like a nice love affair...

Rachel: That's the key - to blog at work and I can't:(

Dorkys: Good for you, girl - I still get online first thing in the morning before everybody wakes up.

Ben: Really? It takes only 20 mins to post your blog? That's fast. It takes me at least 40 mins, if that!

And that's right, you're in Canada. I always forget. Maybe you should fly down to scam another:)

Carrin: Oh, another woman who blogs at work!! Honestly, this would totally solve my problem. I try to sneak around and blog on my Blackberry, but it's obvious that I'm not working, so I try not to do it...

LadyStyx: I have myspace and facebook also. It's really crazy isnt it???

ka1t_lyn: You're right, Life comes before computers:)

Colby: What?? 365 straight days?? People are having short breath doing the 30 day/November thing, you're doing it the whole year?? WOW!!!

Savvy: JT always tells me I need to prioritize and that's what I need to learn.

SBW: You're so smart doing it in bed. Smart!! Did you like the break??

Bayjb: I take forever to post daily blogs, so it's frustrating. It's fun and I love it, but it's indeed a time suck!!!

Diamond: Yes, it's a lot to be on computer for 6 hours, but sometimes it does happen.

Alev: Oh yes my dear, writing poem on regular basis would count as blogging. hehe. We all have own weakness don't we?

hello! just found your blog! good post... I struggle with this as I love to keep my blog up but I barely have any time at work and then when i get home I don't feel like being on the computer. I find that once I get inspired, I will write a few posts at a time and then schedule them. That's the only way I can really keep up with it.

I still love blogging, which is good. Once I feel like it's a chore is when I will stop. It def. is still second priority to everything else in my life.

Tiffany: Hello to you too! Thanks for leaving me the comment:) Yes, I have been struggling with my blog addiction and it's so hard to kick! LOL. But I'm learning to take it easy - if I can't post a day or two, I don't sweat anymore... Stay in touch!!!
