Optimism

Are you an optimist? I saw Michael J. Fox's special program "Michael J. Fox : Adventure of an Incurable Optimist" on ABC (there is also a book that he wrote) - you should see it.

As you know, Michael J. Fox is suffering from Parkinson's Disease. You can see his symptoms are getting worse, but somehow, he is full of hope. His strength is something I truly admire. He tries to explain what it is to be an optimist. Is that a good thing? Of course. I believe being an optimist can carry you through tough times. But I know it's not always easy.

My mother is an optimist. She tries to find good things in everything that surrounds her life. She tells me to think positive every time I am being negative. She's been on dialysis for the past seven years and there are times she gets sad about it, but she is all about being happy and making her daughters happy...

I believe being happy and optimistic about your life can only do good physically and emotionally. Although I must admit, I find myself being a pessimist, possibly more than being optimistic about things. But in the end, I always find the way to become hopeful...

So, what do you think everybody? Are you an optimist? Or are you a pessimist?

I caught part of the ABC special too..and totally cried.

I try so hard to be an optimist but life is tricky sometimes. I think all we can do is take the good with the bad and laugh and smile and enjoy the little moments that are so important, that I know I so often take for granted.

Love you girl, hope your family is doing ok. FB me your address so I can send you a card :)

As often as I try to be a optimist some days are better than others. I definitely surround myself with highly optimistic people; they help me see a much brighter side to so many things!

Thanks for your comment last night:-) Happy belated Momma's Day

Thanks for checking out my blog.

LOVE Michael J. Fox and loved his special the other night! I try to be an optimist, but I can also be one of those worst scenario kind of people. I feel like if I think of everything that can happen then it can't happen. Like I've covered my bases or something. Weird, I know.

I am usually an optimist, but the times that I am feeling like the glass is half empty, I prefer to keep it to myself, because it usually blows over.

I have such respect for Michael, he's such a great pioneer for his cause.

I didn't watch this special but I agree that a positive mentality is the most important thing to have. I wonder if this is on hulu so I can catch up! Great post.

You know, I think I display different sides of me. Most people I know would describe me as optimistic. In fact, I've been surprised by this compliment more lately than ever before. But I think I've always seen myself as pessimistic, and I'm sure my husband would describe me that way. Not sure what that means. Maybe it's my nature to be a downer, but it's a discipline I like to think I'm developing to look on the bright side.
And who doesn't love Michael?

I saw the first few minutes of his special on TV.... so inspiring! It also made me wonder - am I an optimist? I think I am.... most of the time. But I think there are also days I could REALLY use some reminders to keep my chin up. :) Maybe I should get the book!

Everyone: I'm so sorry I have been suck at commenting back to each one of you :( I get so busy lately, sorry! I'm glad most of you are optimist - I think we all are most of the time and I think it's okay to feel negative sometimes... It's only a human nature. I hope you're having a fabulous weekend! xoxo
