Remembering Pat Tilman at Superbowl - and my Sunday music choice-
I love NY Giants, but this year's Superbowl is the showdown between Steelers and Cardinals.
When I see Cardinals play, I think of Pat Tilman. He played the safety for Cardinals, then September 11 attacks happened. In 2002, he turned down the multi-million dollars contract and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He left the luxry of being a NFL football player to follow what he thought what's the right and best thing to do - to fight for his country. He died in April 2004 by friendly fire in combat in Afghanistan.
He's a very courageous person. Not many people are willing to throw away their comfortable lives and put themselves in danger - how many of us are willing to take that risk to actually act on your virtue?
He is a true hero who dedicated his life for his country, our counrty and us...
So I am going for Cardinals tonight. I hope Cardinals play for Tilman and try the best they can to honor his life..
Oh! And I had another reason for going for Cardinals. Kurt Warner - he is HOT!
Today's Sunday Music Choice - "I Hate This Part" by Pussy Cat Dolls
I am digging and loving this song!! Do you think they changed the producer?? They are coming up with bunch of good songs lately.... What do you think? Do you like it?
I can't wait to see and post all the funny Superbowl commercial later!!!
I'm not a fan of football, I don't know why. I tried to play it once and got my ass kicked, matter of fact Isuck at most sports exept maybe tennis and swimming.
also the new pussycat song, i feel kind of on the fence about it, I like their more upbeat rythim, but it's ok.
ps: i think i might come back to blogging :) I know i know I keep saying I'm never gonna blog again but whatever.
i just realized this comment was alla bout me, and it is also long, can't even imagine the grammar errors.
Of course I didn't see the Superbowl but good post on remembering Pat Tilman. You're right of course, how man of us would leave our comforts to do something heroic like that?
Thanks so much for checking out my blog..yes lessons learned, I guess that never ends...
Love your song choice in this post...and I'm a football girl so loved your story! the song you were asking about is by Lenka...live like you are dying..great song!
Ryan and I are huge fans of college football (well, I mostly like U of M football). We didn't watch the Superbowl because we dont' have much of a vested interest in the team and we dislike much of the trash that is shown of the commercials. Thank you for featuring Pat Tilman-- I didn't even know. We did watch the end of the game-- CRAZY!
Franco: Yeah, you do like you're not into sports. No offense, you're more of an artist type. I like their upbeat song like "when I grow up", but I think I'm liking their softer side as well. Good that you're coming back - missed seeing you on here!!!
Kristin: So, now do you like it?
LadyStyx: Yay! I think this song is kinda sexy..
The Rambler: He was a great man indeed! I didn't know about him until he was killed almost five years ago. Man, I can't believe it's been that long. He had a wife and a daughter - so sad... But he stays in my mind forever, that's for sure.
Bella: Oh yes, I know! Damn it! LOL
Sara: Sunday's game was awesome! But last year's Superbowl was THE BEST - cuz, my Giants won! ;0
randomemoments: Hey hey, it was my pleasure! Check out the song and let me know what you think!
vsm/whiring; Aw thank you! yes, i think kurt is HOT!!! Jt, don't read this post! lol
Carrin: People always talk about hero. In my book, a true hero means to sacrifice your lives to serve/help others. And there is no doubt in my mind that he was a true hero. Thanks, honey!
BakerGirl: Thanks so much girlfriend!!!
Nicole: That's great you're rooting for Cardinals even though they lost:( Your BF was right telling you to cheer for them:)
Rowena: Aloha, Rowena! Long time no see and sorry for not visiting your blog for awhile.. Yes, we need to realize how brave guy Pat was...
michelle: Oh, yes, I love the song and your blog:) I'll be back to your blog again soon:)
merc: I don't know why, but Tilman's story has stucked in my mind ever since he passed. It's just one of those stories which you just don't want to forget. Thanks sweetie!
The Blond Duck: Aw you don't like it?? Dang it!!! LOL
Kaitlyn: I think most people who are into College football are not that into NFL. But the game was good!
Savvy: I honestly thought that they were going to win as well until I realized there was almost two mins left to the game.. It was good game though!

Wow. I don't follow football much but that's a great story about Pat Tilman. That is a great man indeed that didn't HAVE to but did anyway.
Worked all day so no fun commercials for me...boo hoo.
My Steelers won.

I don't watch football but really got into the game last night. I rooted for the underdogs and really thought they were going to pull it off.

I'm in TOTAL aggreement with the Kurt statement! He is H.O.T.!!!!!
And i'm also diggin' the new pussycat doll song...
