Vlog - This is What Happened to My Condo (Guest appearence by Firefighters)

Two posts in one day, what do you think about this? Ha!

So, I was at work while this was happening to my condo almost two weeks ago. My husband who was at the pool with our daughters didn't know that our place was totally getting wet until he came back to make PJ sandwitch for the girls...

In this clip, the firefighters had to break the ceiling, so the pressure from the water upstairs wouldn't collapse the whole thing. They also had the blue tarp to put on the floor so it would catch the water, but really, it didn't do anything, useless indeed. We had way too much water - well, all the water from above came all down to us, so you can imagine what was that like from viewng this clip... It was crazy and scary!!!

The good thing is most of the things that were in our living/dining room will be replaced by insurance and I can rearrange and redecorate the house. Although I greately appreciate the fact that my in-law's (JT's mom and stepdad) taking us in, I just can't wait to move back and enjoy my own space!!

Do You Like It Young?

Another Hollywood Couple whose wife is a lot older than husband.

The news at my salon this week is that my co-worker (another receptionist) C's mom got married. It's nice to know that C's mom found a new love at the age of 54. Everybody was so happy for C's mom and excited for C. But there is a little twist to the love story. C's stepdad is 37. Yes, you read me right. C's mom is 54 and her new husband is 37. 37!!! The guy is 17 years younger than C's mom. It's been funny experience for me to see all our client who are often older ladies go Goo Goo Gaa Gaa over C's mom's marriage. I bet they are jealous.

When C told me about her mom getting married, she was honestly happy for her mom. She said as long as the man treats her mom right and makes her happy, it doesn't bother her that her mom is marrying such a younger man. C said that her mom looks younger than her age and mom's new husband looks older than 37, so it evens out... Okay.... She often jokes, "I call him Daddy just to tease him." C is 27, so she could never call him Daddy for real.

I am a firm believer of love coquers everything. As long as you love one another, nothing matters. It's great that C's mom got it going and went for it. A lot of people including myself would hesitate marrying a guy who is 17 younger than her age. Wouldn't you??

Then, I thought about a post I did a while back. It's about these high school kids thought that I was hot. I am 35 and they are like 16 - 17.. Now I know I could never be with anyone who is so young (and oh, I'm already married, so I don't qualify for marrying another man, do I?), but it's interesting that some men do attracted to older lady. If you want to know what happened, read this post.

What about you beautiful? Would you like young boy or older man? If there is any male reader, would you like to date older woman? Also, what is the age limit for the guy you date? Mine would be: I could probably date 9 years senior or 8 years younger... My husband is 8 years older than me and thank God he looks young and acts young.

Hope you're having a great Sunday!!!

Morning Affair

My work hour starts at 9AM. I usually stop at Starbucks where my friend works and grab a cup of Grande Latte. I park my car at the parking lot in front of my work and that is my routine.

But about two weeks ago, I saw something interesting that adds to my morning routine. So let's rewind it to two weeks ago.

I got my latte, parked my car and got out of the car. I closed the door when I saw a couple fully making out in the car parked in the distance (but not too far away). I was surprised because I felt like I saw something that I shouldn't see. So I kind of ran to my salon blushing.

The next morning, again, I saw the same couple making out in the same car. They are probably in their early 40's. Now I was like, "Okay... do you guys really need to do this in the middle of parking lot where people can see???"

And I see them again and again and again for the next two weeks. My salon is located at a shopping plaza where ton of people come to eat and shop. My salon is facing the major road, but there are huge trees hiding the view of parking lot. Probably that's why the couple picked the spot right across from my work.

Anyway, I totally knew the couple was having an affair. I'm not stupid, I know exactly what was going on. But seriously, couldn't they find a hotel room??? It's kind of sad that they had to make out in the car - so tiny and so uncomfortable. It would limit the things they would want to do each other. LOL.

Me and my co-workers debriefed and speculated what is going on between them every morning. Some say they are just dating and loving the thrill or they just love each other so much that they have to make out before saying good bye before work. But most of us say, "They are cheating their spouses or at least one of them is!!"

Now, past Monday as I expected them to be at their usual spot, I didn't see the car nor the couple. I thought to myself, "Umm, maybe they left already.."

I walked in to the salon and the girls asked me if I saw the couple. I said, "No" - so we're like, "Oh I wonder what happened to them?" It's funny how we felt the attchment to the morning adulterers. Not to be in a stalking way, but if they chose to make out in front of our work for so long, I do expect them to show up every morning. That's their duty!!!

So, my boss's wife said, "I bet they got caught." -- Ohhh, maybe! Or they just decided to change the location?

Anyway, since I talked about the adulterers, I wanted to list some movies I have seen that involve affair/cheating.

1. Falling in Love: Very classic - kind of heart breaking story, but love it.
2. Fatal Attraction: This movie was really SCARY! I bet many guys who were cheating on their wives at the time decided to stop after seeing this movie.
3. English Patient: One of my favorite movies. Such a beautiful film..
4. Derailed: Very suspenseful and who could resist Clive??
5. Unfaithful: What a steamy movie!!! I was like "WOW! are you serious, Diane Lane???"
6. Rumor Has It: Cute movie just because my Mark Ruffalo is in it.

And! No matter what other people say, my favorite couple on TV was Aiden and Carrie. When she cheated on him with Big, I used to scream at screen, cursing! LOL. Aiden gave her another chance and she broke his heart again. I was pissed! But I am happy that Carrie ended up with Big....

So, everybody, what is your favorite movie that involves infedility??? Or do you hate it?

When Dress Up Is Not For Him...

Photobucket

Do you folks ever argue with your boyfriend/husband/girlfriend/wife??? My husband, JT and I had a bit of, well, actually a huge argument today... We, of course made up in the end, but it doesn't make me feel good about myself at all when I know it was my fault. And it makes me more upset when it was about something so stupid!!!

JT and I were getting dressed to go out for shopping today. I asked him nicely, "Hey JT, please dress nicely for me, K?".

His reply was this, "Ok.."

Well, JT tends to dress down, way down sometimes where I am like WTF??? I tend to enjoy dressing myself up even just going out for grocery shopping or whatever. My parents are both stylish and I grew up watching them dress chic and cool. So, I always believe looking nicely in public is important. Of course, I love jeans and tank top, too, but I enjoy being in lovely clothes.

Anyways, he decided to dress up in a baggy T and a pair of board shorts. He looked okay and off we went to the mall where I saw bunch of guys dressed nicely. Now, our conversation went from euphoric to hell...

Maki: JT, you're a very good looking man and I know you dress nicely when you have to, but I want you to try harder for me from now on.

JT: Eh? What are you talking about?

Maki: You need to dress well when we go out, it doesn't matter where we go, I want you to dress nicely.

JT: I think these look okay (looking down at his clothes)

Maki: Yeah, but see, look around, you know I like when people dress nice and neat..

JT: Oh give me a f*%kin' break. You know I don't like to dressed up for no reason. Are you saying you're embarrassed??

Maki: That's not what I'm saying....

JT: Ok, then let's go home. I'm done shopping today. (and he started walking towards exit)

Maki: Why can't you see my point of view??? (chasing him like a little duck)

JT: Well, you know how I always dress, you know this is how I've dressed since you met me, so you should never married me or if you don't like it, then leave!

Maki: :O (Leave????)

I won't go into the aftermath of our argument after the mall because it was ugly!!! I can't share. LOL.

Okay, I was kind of half joking and half serious when I told him I want him to dress nicely. But you see, I've always enjoyed watching "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". I think it's nice when men pay attention to fashion. I know it doesn't come naturally for many men, but why do I have to be told to leave???

Even his mom told him before that he needs to dress like 40 years old, not 18 years old. Actually he acts like Tommy Lee from Motley Crue and he even looks like him. John used to compete for DMX and was once a high school champion in the nation. His style would be naturally that. But he looks gorgeous when he dress up for nice dinner or drinks. And I want him to look great for me 24/7. But I guess I am wrong to even think this way...

He told me after the argument when we came home, that I hurt his feeling. He told me that I'm taking other people's inventory. He totally misunderstood my statement. I wasn't checking other guys out. I was just observing how other men were dressed. But in JT's mind, I was looking at the other guys and wishing I have them instead of him.

I felt really bad about it all because he's right, I married him for who he is, not how he dresses. So, I told him I was wrong and I was really sorry... He accepted my apology.

Now, I have to learn how to let go of my desire; wishing that he'd dress good for me. Any good idea or suggestion? How do you deal with a situation like this if you were me???

Finally, the boat is sailing....

Photobucket

I really haven't talked about my relationship with my husband. I was not eager to talk about him or our relationship too much because I have been through a lot with him and for him. But I think I'm finally able to share my life with my husband with all of you who read my blog. Yes, I think I'm ready....

My husband, JT (his nickname here on the blog) and I have been married for six years and have been together for eight years. For the past four years though, have been the most challenging time of our relationship.

JT is a recovering addict. I knew he was addicted to drugs when I met him, when I dated him and when I married him. He was a major pot smoker and using cocaine recreationally (kinda nice way to say for "every weekends" ). It's crazy, when you love someone, those serious problems didn't matter to me or at least I tried not to acknowledge his problems. Part of me was saying I shouldn't be with him, but other part of me couldn't resist of being with him.

He used to tell me he would quit and I always believed his word. I waited and waited patiently, hoping he'd change his ways. Then I got pregnant with my first baby. That's when things took the wrong turn again. He was now addicted xanax due to the anxiety. Oh man, why!? Could anything be more wrong in my life??

Then my baby Ju-Ju was born... I think that's when something sort of happened inside of him. When he cut the belly cord and held our baby girl for the first time, I think he realized that he had to change. So he stopped taking xanax, just like that. Yep, cold turkey!!!! But do you know what happens when you're heavily addicted to xanax and stop taking them suddenly???? You'll have seizure, my friends!!!

One morning, I heard a huge thud and woke up. I saw my husband on the floor. I didn't have contact lenses in my eyes and couldn't see well, so I thought he just fell from bed. I started laughing and said, "are you okay, JT?" But he wouldn't answer me. So I get closer, then I saw him convulsing. His stiffness of arms and body, I knew he was having a grand mal seizure. I had never seen anyone having seizure via live. It was like a bad dream, but at the same time, I thought he was going to die. I called 911 screaming and crying for help because I didn't know what was happening or what to do.

When he came to, he was surrounded by 7 Rescue and Engine firefighters. They told him he had to go to the hospital, but he was like "Are you fu@#*ing kidding me? I've never been an epileptic and there is no way I had seizure.." Of course he wouldn't know..

They talked to him for quite a while and he agreed to go to see a doc if, I, his wife Maki would take him by our truck, not in the ambulance. When we got there, the doc ran some tests (cat scan, blood tests, etc) and everything came back normal. So he okayed us to go home. We're chatting in the car on the way home and I was explaining to him what happened and how scary it was. Then I felt the sudden silence in the back of the car. I looked back and there he was having another seizure laying on top of our four months old baby in the infant seat. I called another 911 and the same folks from the Rescue and Engine company came to help us. This time, he was in the ambulance off to ER....

Ever since that day, four years ago, my life with him had been ups and downs, an emotional roller coaster. He managed to quit xanax, but he became epileptic. He's had total 10 seizures in four years period. One time was in our truck while he was driving to work and ran into a house. It happened three days after we celebrated his 1st year seizure free anniversary. My heart dropped when I saw a police officer standing in front of the door asking me if I'm JT's wife. I thought he was dead!! That was almost two years ago. He hasn't had seizure since.

He was still spoking pot here and there, but he went to detox last year October. He relapsed once again in March, but he's been clean and sober for 5 months now. No pot, no any kind of drugs. He's clean! He prays everyday. I pray everyday for his sobriety. There were million times I wanted to give up on him and on our marriage. I was often envious of other couples who seemed so happy and drama free. But I stood by him. I always remember our wedding vows when he told me that I am his best friend. I couldn't give up on my best friend. I just couldn't...

He's totally a different person now. He's more caring and loving than ever before. I know that it's daily struggle for both me and my husband. His fight against his addiction is not over, but I would like to hope that he's ready to be the person he meant to be. I want to have faith in him. And I know he can be the best husband and father to me, Ju-Ju and Soapy.

I was always afraid that people would judge me and think I'm a loser for marrying my husband. But I can say now that I'm proud of him. And I wanted you to know who I really am and who my husband is. And hopefully by sharing my story here would help people who are going through the same problems. I hope I didn't bore you with my story. Thanks for reading and please come back....

Love Affair Part. 2~

I don't mean to always talk about sex, but I think it's important to talk about it when I want to talk about it.

I am a person who can't have sex just for the sake of sex. I think most of women are build that way. Even you tell yourself that, "this is just sex", you'd eventually find yourself feeling this tingle in your back if you keep sleeping with the same man.

I talked about my friend, Mr. M's relationship with his wife several posts back; that because he loves his wife and his children, he agrees to let his wife to sleep with another man to avoid divorce.

Okay, so I've been thinking about this a lot. Really. A lot... And I came to the conclusion, it's just impossible in my book. If my husband came to me and told me that, "okay, the marriage is not working, we're not working, our love is not working, so what should we do?", then of course I would be devastated. And if he tells me the only way for us to save our marriage is to have an open marriage where he can sleep with another woman. I am sorry, that's when I have to draw the line.

It's true, nobody wants to go through a divorce. It's absolutely natural that parents want to protect their children from any harm including divorce. But, if you claim to love each other, then why would you allow your spouse to sleep with another man/woamn? I don't know...

I'm sure there are so many unhappy married couples out there. And I know marriage and love are not simple like we all want to believe. Because we have to work at it to make it work. Marriage is not a goal or solution to a relationship. It's just a start, a beginning to so many happiness and hardships.

But, we need to know that we have to have boundaries. I don't want to criticize my friend because it's working for him and his marriage. It's good for them and their life. But not me. I think if anything happens between my husband and I, I want both of us to have the courage to be honest and have enough respct for each other to let go of our marriage.. Because I think, that's love even at the end of love.

Love Affair

A good friend of mine, Mr. M told me the other day that his wife of 16 years is having an affair with another guy for the past 6 months. I was really shocked. He never showed any sign of troubles in his marriage. But this is nothing compare to the story I am about to tell you...

Mr. M told me that because he has the best interest in protecting his children from any harm which includes Divorce he agreed that she can keep seeing this guy she's sleeping with. WTF??? Yes, I said it "WTF!?" But he was calm and reasonable and said he's not being desperate. He said he still loves her and he knows she loves him. But sometimes, two people fall in love and fall out of love, but they want to keep the children as family, so they talked countless hours and days and they chose to have an open marriage.

He is not happy talking about it and they are not swingers, but he told me he's come to grips with it and made the commitment to be with her for rest of his life, so he'll go through with it...

Now, the question comes to my mind was whether he would seek a friend like his wife has... The answer is he doesn't know yet. He told me that he would eventually wanting to make himself happy, but not right now. I asked him why he didn't give her the divorce when she came up and told him maybe the marriage is not right for her anymore. He said because he believed they still have chance to make it work. That's how much he loves her. They're no longer in love with each other, but they love each other still and he strongly believes children should be raised by both parents. He said he comes from a divorced parents and he hated all those days and years he was forced to going back and forth between his father and mother spending different holidays. He doesn't want his children to go through what he went through...

With that said, let me say this: I'm so confused. I'm really, really confused.. Is this really possible? I thought it's only possible in the movies or some crazy swinger's world, but he's not like that. He's a genuine human-being. I feel bad about it. But also I'm amazed the weight of one man's dedication to his children. He's unbelievable!

When Sex is Only Sex

Things get complicated when you fall in love with someone who is not capable of being in love. My best friend, Miss. K is going through tough time with exact that - being in love with my brother-in-law who just can't commit. I'm always in between of two people that I love and care. She calls me and cry how much she loves him, but she doesn't know what to do with him anymore. Then the next day on Sunday evening (we gather every Sunday for dinner at my in-law's house), I have to listen to him nagging about how serious things are becoming and he doesn't know what to do.

I always tell him if he doesn't want her as his girlfriend, then let her go, even it will hurt her now, it will save her in the end. He tells me he always tells her that it's just sex and he thinks that's what she wants too. Wrong!!! She tells him so because she's afraid of losing him. She always tells him how she feels, but he tells her he just can't commit. But once she decides to leave the relationship, he starts to freak out and wants her in his life, asking me bunch of questions about her.

So, I want to tell you Mr. D, don't confuse her, don't confuse me and don't play with her heart. Actually I can say this all the guys out there who think they can walk on gals hearts whatever they want. Effing wrong!!!!

Love in Mute....

I've been talking about my relationship with my husband for the past few days. Well, we have not been getting along and every time we talk, ends up in disagreement or argument. Therefore, him and I are not talking to each other, especially today. We're totally in mute. He's watching TV and I'm typin this blog. Why???? Yes, yes, we fail to communicate each other, that's why. He often times blames my ability to understand what he says/asks just because I'm Japanese (I'm originally from Japan.) Is that fair? I mean can he speak Japanese? No. So, I want him to be more understanding of my shortcomings when it comes to English. I did pass my proficiency test before graduating high school though.

This is so frustrating and depressing. Good lord, I have my two daughters, they save my sanity...

Going to bed mad

So, I wasn't sure what to do before going to bed last night; should I sleep with him in the same bed or should I sleep in a separate bed? Well, I chose to sleep in the same bed although I was still really upset about what happened last night, but I thought I would just feed the fire if I didn't sleep in the bed with him. So I did, puffing and huffing, crawling into the bed. Funny thing is I fell asleep really fast! I thought I would toss and turn forever, but it didn't take long for me to the ZZZ time.

When I woke up, I could still see that my husband was upset from last night. Knowing that he's still upset, of course I didn't talk to him. I told him good morning, but that was it and he left for work.... It sucks. It wasn't my fault that we fought. It just that we are going through the phase of whatever we say it rubs each other in the wrong way. Don't you go through the same thing sometimes????? Then after awhile of non-stop bickering, the wall between us would shift and we are fine again. I don't get it. But right now, our relationship sucks and I don't like it...

I'm soooooo over it!!!!

I'm so tired of fighting with my husband. I've had it. I'm fed up!!! I've always believed and thought that we can work our differences and make it through because we love each other. But now, after all these years, I start to suspect that maybe "love" is not enough to keep us together. I don't even know if I should talk about my personal matter here, but what a hey, no one is reading this anyway, so I will just let it all out!

My husband and I have been married for six years. Thank God, we have two most beautiful daughters - I mean I don't even know how we got so lucky to be blessed with them. I'm so graterful...and yet, we can't seem to get it together even for our girls. We pretty much bickering at each other everyday (well, we go through these cycles of getting along and not getting along), God only knows for what or even why. What I know is though that we both want to be right and choose to fight and argue instead of work things out, compromise and make peach. It takes two to start an argument, but I always feel that it only takes one to start a fight. I get defensive, he gets defensive; when have we become this couple who can't even talk to each other????

There are so many reasons why I feel this way about my husband; all the resentmen towards him. I will talk about him more later when I am calm.. People often say "Don't go to bed angry!!!" Well, he went to bed angry and I'm angry still. The question is should I sleep next to him? The answer will be in tomorrow's blog. Good night.
